OFFICAL RULES AND REGULATIONS – NO
ALTERATIONS
1. Eligibility – Fishermen 18
years old and older will be allowed to compete in the tournament.
Persons under 18 years can participate only as a teammate of a parent,
guardian, or relative 18 years or older. A completed and signed
entry form must be accompanied by the $200.00 entry fee per team.
Entries must be by team (2) people per boat. Limited to first 75
teams. Minnesota
Fishing License required.
2. Per-Tournament Practice –
Anytime up to registration June 13, at 6:00 p. m.
3. Safety – All contestants
must observe U. S. Coast Guard and Minnesota boating regulations.
4. Sportsmanship – Contestants
will be expected to be courteous, safety conscious and practice
fundamental sporting principles. Any infraction can result in
disqualifications. Alcoholic beverages are not allowed in boats
during tournament. Alcohol violations will result in immediate
disqualification.
5. Tackle – Artificial and
live baits may be used.
6. Fishing area – West Battle
Lake
7. Boat and motor – Must meet
U. S. Coast Guard and Minnesota boating regulations for occupancy by 2
persons. Motor size dependent on size of boat.
8. Lake Headquarters – All
contestants must start and end each day at this point, Rainbow Bait
Beach.
9. Fishing hours – Tournament
will be from 7:00 a. m. to 3:00 p. m. June 14 and from 7:00 a. m. to
2:00 p. m. June 15. Flights are 15 minutes apart.
10. Scoring – Prizes will be
based on most weight (pounds and ounces) during the two days of
tournament. Each boat will be judged by a total of 6 walleyes per
team, per day, the total weight. Only walleyes will be
counted
that are 15 inches long of longer. Only 2 walleyes per boat per
day over 20" long. A one pound penalty for each fish under 15"
long. ONLY
LIVE FISH WILL BE WEIGHED.
11. STINGER SORTING IS PROHIBITED.
A contest participant must make a decision when a walleye is caught
whether to retain it for possession or return it to the water.
12. Teams – Contestants must
enter as 2-person teams only. Prizes will be awarded to
teams. No partner changes after 7:00 p. m. June 13. At
least one member must be present at rules meeting Friday, June 13.
13. Inspection – Boats will be
inspected before and during the tournament. Cheating will result
in immediate disqualification.
14. Weigh-In – Will be at
Damskov residence on west side of South Point until one hour before the
tournament ends. The last hour will be at Rainbow Bait Beach.
15. Note – It shall be illegal
for 2 contestants boats to pull up to each other during tournament
hours, or any other boat other than officials.
16. Final registration – Must
be completed prior to 7:00 p. m. Friday, June 13, 2008.
17. Ties – Any ties for first
place will result in Sudden-Death Fish-Off. Other ties will be
resolved by tournament officials.
18. Fish – Provisions will be
made at weigh-in to release live fish.
19. Not Allowed – Use of cell
phones, CB radios, binoculars or underwater cameras during the
tournament hours.
20. Rulings – ALL RULINGS BY
JUDGES WILL BE FINAL.
21. Liabilities – Tournament
sponsors and officials will not be liable for any accidents, loss or
damage of property, or personal injury in conjunction with this
tournament.

General – Interpretation of
these rules is left exclusively to the tournament committee. The
decision of the judges and officials shall be final in all matters.
